5 Places to check out this spring with your toddler:

The Nashville Zoo

Nashville-Zoo-0001

The Zoo is currently going through some major renovations to prepare for new animals. It’s still open through the renovations and is just as much fun as always. This is the perfect place for your animal lovers. Pack lunches and enjoy the warm weather out on the lawn by the carousel and make sure to hit up the playground before leaving for the day. The kangaroos are our favorite animals right now! Make sure to check out Hilarie’s post about the new Soaring Eagle ride!

Cheekwood

There’s really no place more beautiful than Cheekwood in the Springtime. The colors from the 1000’s of tulips is quite a site to see. This is another place that’s perfect for your little one! The room to run and play is endless at Cheekwood. Aside from the beautiful blooms and wonderful scents that linger throughout the gardens, there is an outdoor train exhibit that features Thomas, Percy and other locomotives. The Frist Learning center is housed at Cheekwood and offers events for kids weekly. Make sure to visit Cheekwood at least once this Spring. If you are planning on visiting multiple times, consider a membership! Upcoming Events: Cheekwood In Bloom, March 19 – April 24. There will be special activities offered during these weekends in March and April. For more info on the activities that will be going on, CLICK HERE. *photo credit: Style Blueprint

Bicentennial Mall/Cumberland Park

splash park

Get your little one’s swimsuit out and get ready for some fun at these 2 splash places! The best part: They’re both free! The Bicentennial Mall is located beside the Farmers Market downtown and has about 2 dozen water fountains that kids love running under. Hours of fun will be had here. There is another fun splash park close by at Cumberland Park. It’s located beside the Titan’s Stadium on the south side. There are water fountains, a large splash pool, and some other play areas at Nashville’s newest Splash Pad.

Local Parks

Playground

Sevier Park (12 South), Parmer Park (Belle Meade), Woodmont Park (Green Hills), and Granny White Park (Brentwood) are some of our favorite local play spots for our kiddos. They all offer excellent playgrounds, open areas for kicking balls, throwing frisbees, having a picnic lunch, and more. Several have small creeks near by that are always a huge hit! Check these spots out the next time you want to head to a great playground! *photo credit: erin simpson properties

Nashville Sounds Baseball Game

Grab your baseball glove and prepare to catch a fly ball! Head to a Sounds game for a great night of family fun. Your little ones will love the action and, of course, the snacks. Popcorn is a must for my little ones. The new park is very nice and there are many different seating options to choose from. Grab your friends and take in a baseball game this Spring! 1. The downtown library is also great for little ones. They have renovated the kids section so it’s great for all ages and it’s free!!
