Back to School: Fun Lunch Ideas

It’s that time of year again! Back to School has arrived. You, as a mom might be feeling a little sad. Maybe you have a kindergartener and will have to get into a brand new school routine or maybe you have two kiddos going to school this year and you will have an “empty nest” during the day. Maybe you have been counting down the days and you are ecstatic that school is back in swing! Regardless, it’s here and that definitely means one thing…school lunches!

I’m here to share my secret to fun lunches!

Are you ready?

I have been cutting my kiddos’ sandwiches with cookie cutters during the school year for almost 3 years now! I have a drawer full of various cookie cutters. If you have been following me on Instagram, you know the lunches that I’m talking about. Fun lunches don’t have to be hard. Believe me. I’m not a morning person at all so if fun lunches required multiple tools and an extra half an hour in the morning to prepare, you wouldn’t be seeing cute lunches from me!

So here’s what to do:

go grab some cookie cutters (Michael’s sells them in big boxes!) and simply cut your child’s sandwich with the cutter!

It makes my kiddos smile and if you have a picky eater, this might help! Fun Food=Yummy Food…right?! You child isn’t a sandwich eater? No problem! Pull out a slice of cheese and cookie cutter that! You can even purchase mini cookie cutters so that you can get 4 or 5 cuts from a slice of cheese! Now this isn’t as easy as the sandwich and cheese but you can take cookie cutters to thinly sliced pieces of fruit (think watermelon) or just thin sliced deli meat! Fun for all kinds of eaters!

If you decide to try out the cookie cutters this year, share with us! I would love to see what fun sandwiches you have “made” for your child this school year! Happy Back to School!

Be a friend and share!
