Charleston is always a good idea, especially with girlfriends in tow!
Some girlfriends and I headed to the South Carolina low country for a getaway! The weekend was full of walking cobblestone streets, taking thousands of pictures of window boxes, dining on Shem Creek and enjoying the beach on Seabrook Island.
Our first day was spent exploring Charleston oohing over the pastel colored houses on Rainbow Row, biscuits and mimosas at Millers All Day, daydreaming under the live oaks at The Battery, and of course we had to do a little shopping on King Street. We kept quoting The Notebook and thought Noah and Allie may pop around the corner at any moment. After we walked all over town, we decided to treat ourselves to pedicures at Mylk Bar. This eco-friendly nail salon was adorable, the staff were super friendly and just the cutest place! I can’t wait to go back!
There’s nothing like dining on Shem Creek. Boats just drive up to dock for dinner. Tavern and Table didn’t disappoint with honey skillet cornbread or the shrimp and grits!
We stayed in the cutest cottage on Seabrook Island, Lowcountry Retreat. The house had everything we needed and was conveniently located close to the beach! The owners were great to work with and I highly recommend them! I’m hoping that my family can book a trip soon! Seabrook Island is full of such charm! Freshfields Village is only a few minutes away and has a grocery store, shops like Vineyard Vines and Tres Carmen, Urban Nirvana, restaurants and hosts events too!
Lowcountry Retreat had bikes for us to use! I’d forgotten how fun bike riding is! However, I don’t recommend it while wearing a dress!
We slept in, read books, made tacos for Cinco de Mayo and just relaxed.
It was sooo good for the soul and to recharge our mom batteries.
The Cottage had the most fun loft with four bunks! It would make the best kid’s room!
There’s just something about toes in the sand and an ocean view! Until next time…
