Fall Break is just around the corner! We’ve got a few Staycation ideas for those of you staying in town. Nashville is full of museums, some of the best restaurants, parks and it is almost impossible to be bored in this town!
*Spend the Day Downtown
Start the day off at the Nashville Farmer’s Market where you’ll have your pick of vendors and restaurants in both the indoor and outdoor markets. Once you’ve found your treasures, it’s time to museum hop. First up, explore Music City’s rich history at The Country Music Hall of Fame (free and discounted admission for local families, visit here for more information) or channel your inner artist at The Frist . Next, try some of Nashville’s best barbecue at Martin’s. Cumberland Park is a great way to run off some energy and take in downtown Nashville scenery. If you need to satisfy your sweet tooth, head to Mike’s Ice Cream for a scoop. End the night in Smashville and cheer the Preds to a win!
*Be a tourist in your own town
The Gaylord Opryland Hotel has so much to offer visitors from dining experiences, the Relache Spa, shopping, fitness center, and extraordinary amenities. The kids will love taking advantage of the outdoor or indoor pool. The resort is a great place to spend the day or book a room for the night! Once you’ve explored the hotel, make the short distance over to Opry Mills. The Aquarium Restaurant, Dave and Busters, Madame Tussauds or the movie theater will provide hours of entertainment. Everyone should experience a Grand Ole Opry show. There’s just nothing that compares to it! The Grand Ole Opry is such an important part of Music City! Read about my recent trip to the spa here.
*Spend Time in the Great Outdoors
Fall is the perfect time to be outside! Hike the trails at Radnor Lake, see the ducks at Shelby Bottom’s Nature Park, or take a scenic drive on Natchez Trace Parkway. Make your way through the corn maze at Lucky Ladd, pick a pumpkin to carve and enjoy the many activities!
