So, we aren’t technically allowed to say the “S” word, but we hope you know what we mean by the Big Game.
With the big game around the corner, we scoured Pinterest for some fun (and kid-friendly) ideas to host the perfect game-day party. We gathered ideas, attempted them on our own, and we are here to let you know what’s worth it, and what’s not-so-worth it.
Football Juice Boxes from Catch My Party
There’s no tutorial, but we just cut some brown construction paper and wrapped it around. Then glued on some white strips for the laces.
Verdict: Easy and cute! But, I think when they start drinking, they’ll have to take it out of the paper. How else will they get the straw off?
Touchdown Tablecloth from Your Cozy Home
Basically, you cover a table in craft paper (we used postal wrap paper) and then use electrical tape to create the lines.
Verdict: It really shouldn’t be that difficult, but we ran out of tape. And, the man of the house didn’t get why the field was brown instead of green. So, maybe not the best use of resources.
Kraft Paper Bags from Hostess with the Mostess
Brown paper sack. Add duct tape laces.
Verdict: The duct tape was making me crazy. There was no way to cut it nice and neatly. So, I used white paper and glue instead. And, I love it! This is easy and really cute. Just add popcorn.
Superbowl Bingo from Style Me Pretty
Easy enough. Print and cut.
Verdict: Love it! We used football themed M&Ms as markers and voila! you have a fun game for those who aren’t as in to football.
Referee Stripe Photo Booth from HWTM
There’s a pretty complex tutorial for this one. We decided that maybe just hanging black streamers on a white wall would work. But, we couldn’t find black streamers anywhere (weird). So, we took a black plastic tablecloth and cut it in to strips and hung that on a white wall. It works.
Verdict: Fun idea! We love photo ops, so this is great. You could definitely follow their instructions for a much better looking booth, but ours was cheap and easy.
Food Options- You can totally make some awesome football shaped food. But, we would opt for chili and all the toppings. Plus, maybe some pretzels and popcorn! Oh, don’t forget to order some cookies from Jake’s Bakes! They’ll deliver so it’s one less thing for you to worry about.
We want to hear from you! Are you hosting a party for the Big Game? Will you go all out with decorations or just focus more on enjoying some football and friends?
