Valentine’s Day is my most favorite holiday of the year. It beats Christmas and Halloween… it beats everything. That being said, I’m also a mom with more to do than sit around and throw amazing Valentine’s Day parties (but I do sometimes). This year, we are keeping it simple and sweet with a make your own popcorn party!
I love this idea for kids, but I’m pretty sure the adults could get into this too! The best part is that it takes about $20 and 20 minutes to set up. Yay!
First you need popcorn. Easy enough. Then, just pick out some candies and things that you think may go well with popcorn. Keep in mind that kids eat weird stuff so don’t be stuck inside the box on this one.
I chose Valentine’s Day M&Ms, Conversation Hearts, and sprinkles!
Oh, and don’t forget the chocolate!
I set each kiddo up a little station with these adorable new Cheeky plates, napkins, and spoons, and a paper bag, where they can mix in their “ingredients”. I thought a paper bag may minimize the mess. Add in the ingredients and shake, shake, shake!
You can try adding in the chocolate to the bag, but it didn’t go so well for us. I just drizzled it on top of our popcorn once we were done shaking.
Ta-da! Now you have some fun and delicious popcorn to eat. Pop in some fun music and have the kids a little dance party to burn off that sugar before they head home.
