This real mom party was submitted by Rachel B. She threw this party for her son, Jude’s first birthday!
Our favorite things:
- Rachel had guests bring canned food donations instead of gifts
- The adorable berry baskets with veggie sticks and goldfish for the kiddos
- The food table displays with vintage soda crates
The chalkboard displayed Jude’s monthly photos. Guests were asked to bring canned goods to “fill Jude’s Picnic Basket” which were donated to a local food pantry.
Rachel offered lemonade for the kiddos using reusable plastic bottles and paper straws and an “adult” version for the grown-ups made with prosecco.
For food, Rachel had classic picnic fare- fruit kebabs, salami, cheddar, olive bites, caprese bites, pimento cheese tartlets and tortilla roll-ups. For the kiddos she served goldfish and veggie sticks in berry baskets. All the sweets were typical picnic treats made by Rachel’s fabulous mother- rice Krispie treats, brownies, chocolate chip cookies and of course, cake!
Everyone got to take home a homemade chocolate chip cookie in these cute bags with custom stickers from Tiny Prints.
In Rachel’s words:
Nothing is more fun to me than planning a first birthday party, and planning my sweet baby Jude’s special day was no exception. I knew for my little man I wanted to do a picnic party. We love family picnics in the park and often have them in our own backyard. I could not wait to see little ones playing, eating and celebrating out back. Our darling Tiny Prints invitations set the tone, and it was full picnic mode from there collecting festive goodies to celebrate the big day. I made all the bunting banners and bunting for the cake as well as Jude’s party hat. I loved displaying Jude’s monthly pictures on our chalkboard. And not going to lie, got super sentimental looking back at my little man growing so fast! The day was spent eating and drinking and playing. Balls, bubbles and hula hoops kept the kids entertained, and I loved watching so many of our friends and family love on our little man. Such a special day!
