Have you ever googled the word Mom?
I did for the first time and it taught me a lot.
We are portrayed in many ways in popular culture, social media, television, and even Google. Mixed among the messages are images of Super Moms, Mess Up Moms, Lazy Moms, and Pinterest Moms. Where are the Normal Moms? The Regular Moms? The ‘I Kept My Kids Alive and Happy for Several Years’ kinda moms?
We argue over working or staying home. We don’t give enough credit to the moms who work from home. What are we doing? As a society – maybe we aren’t doing enough for moms.
That’s why I wanted to tell you that I see you! I admire you and how you take such great care of your babies, even when you’re tired. Some days you don’t really feel like doing much more than turning on the TV and phoning it in but you don’t. You read book after book and color! You make special holiday themed breakfasts for your kids and even get them to school on time.
You learn and remember the intricacy of each of your babies and celebrate them in unique and special ways. Some days when life seems overwhelming you wonder if it’s all worth it – guess what Momma – it is! You are doing a great job! You are building the future, one day at a time you are building a kindgom…a legacy!
Being a mom doesn’t make you any more important or special than another person but it gives you an important and special perspective on the growing life of another person…isn’t that amazing?!
Here’s to the days that we are tired. Here’s to the days that we are excited. Here’s to when we get it so right and here’s to when we get it so wrong! Here’s to sticky fingers and peanut butter kisses. To toothless grins and baby gas smiles. Here’s to moms everywhere and all that bonds us together!!
We Love You Mom! You’re doing a great job!
