Some moms excel in the area of crafting and/or planning ahead about making cute crafts for your child’s new teacher. Some moms don’t excel in either area. We don’t have the patience/skill/desire to make things. We aren’t DIYers by nature. Or, if we do get a bee in our bonnet and decide to craft, it’s generally at about 7:30pm the night before school starts.
I am the second mom.
So, when I realized that school starts tomorrow for most of Nashville, I decided our back to school craft better be easy and quick. If you want a “craft for dummies”, I’m definitely the right girl for the job. Also, I have the patience of 3 year old so you know it won’t take too long to finish. ;)
super easy crayon vase for back to school
Supplies:
- Crayons (I used exactly 64 to make 2 cups)
- Glass cups
- Double-sided tape
- Ribbon (optional)
Step 1: Put double-sided tape around the cup. My cup was a bit taller than the crayons so decide if you want to line the crayons up with the top of the cup or the bottom and put your tape around the cup in the appropriate spot.
Step 2: Place crayons around the cup. I left the cup sitting on the table so I would have a mostly level surface when lining up the crayons.
Step 3: Ta-da! You’re done! You can tie a ribbon around the vase to pretty it up some, but you shouldn’t need to. You can also add flowers, candies, school supplies, or anything else to spruce up the gift some.
Told you it was easy! You could also try this with a tall cup and colored pencils.
