Cold and Flu Season is here and rather than getting sick during the holidays you can do a few things to be proactive and stay healthy. There are a few top things that have worked for my family very well and hopefully will work for yours too.
Keep your immune system healthy by taking vitamins daily. My go-to vitamins for cold and flu season are Vitamin d3 and Vitamin C.Even if you happen to catch a cold, these definitely help speed up the recovery.
Keep your hands clean and try your best not to touch your face. Personally, I like to carry around a spray hand sanitizer so I can kill germs anytime. This is especially handy when I’m going out with the kids. I usually spray it right after we leave public playgrounds or randomly throughout the day if we are out.
One of my last favorite things to prevent getting sick during these cold fall and winter months are essential oils. You can diffuse them or apply them directly to the skin. You can find essential oils online or in stores, but to have the biggest impact you want to get 100% pure essential oils. I typically will take my chosen oils and blend them and then put them in a roller bottle to apply before I go outside.
- Exercise and drink plenty of water
- Include protein in your diet to boost your immune system
- Wipe down heavily used areas such as your workspace
- Stay away from others who are sick if you can
- Get plenty of rest
