One beautiful Sunday afternoon, we decided to go canoeing on the Harpeth and it was one of our favorite activities of the summer! We reserved a canoe through Canoe Music City. We opted for the 5 mile trip, which took about 3 hours with a few stops to swim, each lunch and play in the water.

Once we were checked in, the staff loaded us up and drove us over to Harpeth River State Park in Kingston Springs. They had everything we needed-paddles, life jackets and of course, a canoe!

We packed a cooler with drinks and snacks for our float! I thought the 5 mile trip would be too long but it ended up being the perfect time.

There’s something so peaceful about being on the water and taking in nature. It’s just good for the soul!

The river was very calm and relaxing.

The river was not very crowded and there were several places to “dock”. Lily Caroline loved catching tadpoles, butterflies and skipping rocks.

The highlight of our day was meeting this sweet, 3-legged pup who lives on the river. We later (through Facebook) connected with her owner and learned that her name is Willow.

Willow loved fetching sticks and swimming. We quickly fell in love with this sweet pup!

Spending time on the Harpeth is what summers should be made of: time with family, sunshine, fresh air and water!
Once our trip was complete, Canoe Music City helped up load up our equipment and drove us back to our car. They made the day super simple and fun!!
Afterwards, we explored Kingston Springs. Such a quaint town with beautiful homes. We found a few shops and tasty treats at Sweet T’s Ice Cream shop.
It’s always good to go on an adventure!
