Welcome to Carlton Landing, Oklahoma’s little slice of paradise on Eufaula Lake.
Carlton Landing is like a seaside beach town…but on a lake…in Oklahoma. If you’re looking to truly get away and relax, this is a dream destination.
WHERE WE STAYED
We stayed at Prosecco Point and had the best experience. The home had everything we needed, comfortable accommodations and convenient to everything. We found this rental through LakeStay, they were so helpful and have an app with instructions on accessing the home and other important information during your stay. This made the check in and out process extremely easy!
This porch swing is EVERYTHING! I went out to read and ended up falling asleep! So relaxing!
Just two Carolina/Tennessee girls loving the Okie life! The owners of Prosecco Point also own The Okie Brand hats, t-shirt’s and other fun Oklahoma accessories. We were under-cover Okies all weekend!
WHAT WE ATE
Breakfast is served! We ordered a curated breakfast bag from The Pantry for our stay! They select high-quality breakfast items, package in a cute tote and deliver to your rental through LakeStay. The pancakes were so good and we were able to have breakfast all weekend!
The Meeting House has coffee, food, snacks and adult beverages. They often have live music on the weekends and a great area to sit and relax in rocking chairs.
LC is a big fan of their cinnamon rolls!
I can’t admit how many Wildberry Sweet Teas I had but it was the most refreshing drink on these hot Oklahoma days!
We loved Mama Tig’s so much that we had it twice during the weekend!
Their wood-fired pizzas and Caprese salad were not to be missed!
Mama Tig’s also has giant outdoor jenga and a sand volleyball court while you wait on your pizza!
Bud’s Air Stream was a favorite for snow cones and sweet treats (like cinnamon toast crunch ice cream sandwiches)!
*I would suggest stocking up on groceries on your way into Carlton Landing as there are only a few options and they are mainly open on weekends. There are grocery stores within 20-25 minutes but to save on vacay time, plan ahead! We made tacos one night and it just felt good to sit around the table together.
WHAT WE DID
The nice thing about Carlton Landing is that it is very laid back and just set up for rest and relaxation. We weren’t in a hurry to “go” anywhere and just enjoyed leisurely days. We slept in, spent time on our porch swing and in rocking chairs! But there were also plenty of things to do outdoors to make lots of special memories.
The Community Garden was full of pretty flowers and a chicken coop!
My friend Vanessa let us borrow her golf cart and we cruising around Carlton Landing was definitely one of our favorite things!
I could’ve spent hours looking at all of the beautiful homes! (Stay tuned for a home tour coming soon)
The community has three pools (one is exclusive to Residence Club members). The Boardwalk and Tower Court Pools were both awesome ways to stay cool.
We spent the morning on the lake tubing, swimming and Owen even learned how to ski. There are several marinas nearby to rent boats. Carlton Landing has a boat club for home owners.
Seeing the JOY on their faces was so priceless! I hope when they look back at this summer, they’ll think of this day!
They laughed even when they got thrown off!
Seth even got back to water skiing after a “few” years.
Life in Oklahoma is sweet!
POP-UPs-On Saturday, CL hosted local vendors. It was so fun to shop these new to us businesses!
Saturday afternoon, we rented paddle boards and a lily pad from The Shacks for a “beach day”. The Shacks also have umbrellas and chairs to make it convenient.
We also played lots of ping pong! There are tables throughout the community! As well as a bocce ball court, playgrounds and parks!
The Overlook is a special spot with the most gorgeous views of Eufaula Lake. Sunset there is just stunning!
Carlton Landing, you stole our hearts this weekend! It was such a special time spending quality time, unplugging and enjoying the great outdoors! I have a feeling we will be back to Carlton Landing often.
