Winter has finally decided to make an entrance here in Nashville and that means it’s time to pull out the extra moisturizer. Growing up in Florida, we didn’t have to worry about cold, dry weather much. So in the past few years I’ve had to kick up my search for awesome products that seriously save my skin all winter long.
My favorite cold weather beauty products:
Dry skin can make you break out just as much as oily skin can so a good face moisturizer is important. I am obsessed with GinZing from Origins for a lot of reasons. The best thing is that it not only hydrates your face, it perks your skin up a bit too. I know that sounds weird, but seriously- put it on half of your face and check out the difference. They also make a GinZing under eye creme that will make those bags disappear. It’s legit.
If your lips need a little exfoliating, I highly recommend Fresh Sugar Lip Polish. It gets some of that dead, dry skin off of your lips so you can start fresh. Just run it on your lips a couple times a week or when you feel like you need it. Plus, it smells delicious!
Cream cleansers moisturize while cleansing your face so it works as a two-in-one to get out the dirt and replace the natural oils. This is especially great in the winter when your skin is extra dry already. I am pretty obsessed with Origins for most of my skincare needs. Their Checks and Balances is one I would highly recommend!
Chapstick, lip balm, just put something on that pretty pout. I pretty much keep chapstick and lip balm stashed everywhere in my house. My current favorites are the Kari Gran Lip Whip I got from Poppy & Monroe and EOS lip balm. My daughter tries to eat it all the time, though, so I have to hide it from her.
Winter means extra germs- yuck! I love Honest Hand Sanitizing Spray because not only is it made of high quality ingredients, but I feel like the spray isn’t as rough on my hands (or my kids’) as a gel would be.
Lotion may be the most obvious winter essential out there. I’ve found that this good ol’ Eurcerin does the trick for everyday dryness on my legs and hands.
*Tip: Make sure to keep some lotion in your purse, by the sink, anywhere you will remember to use it for your hands. When your hands dry out it makes your cuticles peel and then your nails don’t look as good.
Of course, we can’t forget that staying properly hydrated effects so many things in our body! Keep water with you at all times. My latest obsession is this S’well bottle. It stays cold or hot for hours and doesn’t leak in my bag. Yay!
