Music City Winterfest is a free outdoor festival taking place Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 10AM-4PM in Centennial Park. The goal of Winterfest is to bring holiday fun for all ages to the West End community. Activities will include a holiday market with 80 local craft vendors, live music, food trucks and beer garden, photos with Santa, kids activities, and much more!
Fun Activities for Kids:
Photos With Santa – Soles 4 Souls will be manning Santa’s Village, where Mr. Claus will be visiting from the North Pole to meet with Winterfest families. Children will be able to talk with Santa, pose for photos, and leave a letter in Santa’s mailbox. Photos will be printed instantly for $5/print, but guests can receive a photo free by donating a pair of shoes at the on-site Soles 4 Souls donation box.
Kid’s Craft Zone – Young artists are invited to create a special work of art with the gifted instructors from WhimsiKids Craft Company in the Kids Zone sponsored by YP.com. All materials will be provided, and kids will leave with a one-of-a-kind masterpiece to give to someone special. Face painting will also be available.
Princess Appearances – throughout the day, kids will have the opportunity to meet princesses Elsa, Cinderella, and Snow White in the Kids Zone. The princesses will sing songs, tell their story, and take photos with guests.
Train and Carriage Rides – Kids and parents can hop aboard a free train ride around the festival any time during the day. Sugar Creek Carriages will also be offering private horse drawn carriage rides for families. Carriage rides will be $5/adult and $3/child, and funds will go directly to Operation Warm, a non-profit providing coats and warm clothing to kids in need.
Snowball Toss – Nashville Sounds will be hosting a snowball toss game, where kids (and adults) can test their throwing skills and have the chance to win great prizes including Sounds Tickets and swag.
Shine Bright Letter Writing – The Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital Shine Bright campaign will be hosting an on-site letter-writing station. Guests are invited to jot down words of encouragement on provided cards addressed to a patient, their family, or a hospital staff member, and the folks with Monroe Carell will deliver them to the hospital. Kids and adults alike can be sure that their words help brighten someone’s day.
Parent’s Lounge – Parents with young children are encouraged to visit the Baby and Company Parents Lounge for a cozy private place to change diapers, nurse, and care for little ones.
