Achieving affordable AND simple home decor can be easier than you think!
Sometimes, in the midst of a busy day it can seem like your house will have to permanently be in shambles. Am I right? I don’t know about you, but I love beginning my day with a clean space (when I can). It helps me to “get the ball rolling”, and get things done.
Here, I’ll be showing a few looks to help achieve this! Simple, uncluttered home decor can make your home appear to be a little more spacious and tidy! Even if you may be temporarily hiding the mess!
Between errands, family time, work, and taking a little time for yourself, it can be hard to find the time (and energy) to make your home suitable for your family from a style standpoint!
These are a few foolproof ideas to creating a simple, yet stylish look to help begin every day with a fresh start!
For Your Living Spaces
When decorating your home from current style trends with the purpose if staying on a budget, it can be extremely helpful to stick to the basics when it comes to large pieces.
Although it’s tempting to purchase that BEAUTIFUL velvet pink chair for your office…by getting the white linen chair instead, you can blend the chair into upcoming style trends by changing up the pillows, throwing a cute blanket over the top,, or adding a slip cover. That cutie pink chair might not be so versatile. No matter how many times you stick it in your Amazon cart.
Grab a throw, and some “DARLING” pillows!
Accessory Fun
By going a little more neutral with the main pieces in your home, (whether it be natural woods, sofas, chairs, etc.), it can be a simple and budget friendly way to style your home. Pillows, curtains, rugs, knobs and drawer pulls, or a fresh coat of paint can do WONDERS to your home! I recently finished a complete cosmetic kitchen renovation for under $500!
One of my favorite accessories right now is natural wood. Here I’ve paired a natural wood cutting board with some reading material, a candle, and a sweet vase, perfect for some fresh flowers.
Which leads me to my favorite thing ever…fresh flowers. I LOVE keeping flowers in the home. They’re just a little happy bundle to keep on the counter to add a little life to the space.
On occasion, when life gets in the way, and I can’t always keep fresh flowers, I style a bouquet of faux florals for a little pop of color. The Tin Cottage in Franklin is my “go to” for flowers that look so real! Joann’s, Pier One, TJ Maxx, and Amazon are some other great places for florals! Floral and wreaths are a great way to add a little life to the home after a long, cold winter!
A Little Kitchen Love
The kitchen is one of my favorite places to style. It’s where family and friends gather, and where I spend time cooking, baking, crafting, or hosting. There’s nothing like waking up before the rest of the household and drinking coffee in a pretty kitchen for a moment of silence before the day start!
Here I’ve paired this tea mug and tea plate with local honey and tea on a marbled serving tray for a great little display by the coffee station. TRUBEE Honey is locally made in Arrington, Tennessee. Piper and Leaf Tea is a family fun tea company out of Huntsville.
Having a display of cookbooks is a simple way to add a pop of color and personality to any kitchen. It gives guests a little sneak peek into what you and your family love and appreciate.
I love this adorable, rustic recipe stand, pie plate and greenery! As we transition into spring and summer, these color tones are great!
I hope these little hints have been helpful towards making your home into the perfect living space for you and your family! Check out the blog for more decor, DIY’s, recipes and more!

Hello Dawn, it is very tough to find the low budget things that will decorate the home. By reading your blog, I found that our thoughts and likes are just same. My favorite accessory for home decoration is also natural wood and I also think that florals and wreaths are the best things to add in home decor. However, there are many things that will help me to decor my home. Thanks for sharing your blog.
