I have to admit that I’ve never been a super girly-girl. I don’t spend an hour doing my hair or makeup. I don’t own 43 different kinds of eye shadow. I’ve always been in to a pretty simple routine when it comes to beauty. Still, having kids and trying to get read is an entirely different ball game. That 15 minute routine is still too long when you have children that need/demand your attention. So, I’ve simplified my already pretty-simple beauty routine a little bit more.
Here are my favorite beauty time-savers for a quick and easy look to get you out of the house and looking good:
Lotion with SPF– Any product I can purchase that does more than 1 job is a winner in my book. We all want silky soft legs and we need sun protection. I love using Aveeno’s Daily Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 15 to cross 2 things off of my beauty routine at 1 time.
Dry Shampoo– I’ve always washed my hair every day. Some girls are born with great hair that doesn’t get insanely greasy by the day’s end, but I am not one of those girls. Until I discovered the right way to use dry shampoo. Now, I can get away with washing my hair about 3 times a week. My favorite kind is Batiste.
Origins GinZing Eye Cream– You know those horrible bags under your eyes (or is that just me)? This stuff is your new best friend. Just dab a little under each eye and voila! No more eye bags. It’s a must-have. I just can’t cut it out of my routine.
Tinted Moisturizer– If you want to simplify your makeup, you must try out a tinted moisturizer. It’s a whole face in one bottle- moisturizer, SPF, foundation. You can just rub it in with your fingers or use a brush if you’re feeling fancy. I sometimes just throw it in my bag to do at the red light when I’m in a hurry. My favorite right now is Beauty Counter’s Dew Skin with SPF 20.
Lash Extensions– My FAVORITE time saver has to be my lashes. I recently was able to try out permanent lash extensions from Beauty by Shala. Not only are they absolutely gorgeous, but they save me a few steps every morning. I also get to sing “I woke up like this” a lot…
I don’t have to worry about mascara- no clumps, no runs. I can wash my face, brush out my lashes, and leave. They look so good, people really don’t notice if I have my full face of makeup on or not. The lashes last 3-4 weeks and then you will need a fill-in.
If you want to try out some lash extensions, Shala is currently running a special: A Full Set for $120 (regularly $220) Book your appointment now, before the promotion ends! I highly recommend her and am obsessed with my lashes.
