Summer may be winding down but there’s still plenty of sunshine and outdoor adventuring to be had! We recently grab our swimsuits, beach towels, sunscreen and of course the puppies for a day at one of Nashville “beaches”.

We planned to go to Anderson Road Recreation area that is complete with a “sandy beach”. Sadly, when we arrived there was a sign for “No Pets”! I did research before and didn’t see anything on their website that stated that. Luckily, Smith Springs Park on Percy Priest was just a few minutes away and allowed pets on a leash.

This park didn’t have any sandy areas to play in but was free and still a fun place to play in the water! There were also picnic tables and a pavilion, would be fun to go with a group of friends. We took out our little sailboat, floats and soaked in another summer afternoon.
Here are a few other lakeside parks in Nashville to explore.
