Mother’s Day Picnic

- Enjoy the spring air and shop goods from local artisans at the Franklin Makers Market! Located on Front Street in Westhaven, Franklin Makers Market is free for all and features local and regional makers of hand-crafted art, jewelry, food, crafts and more. Local restaurants will be setup selling food and cocktails – enjoy a picnic lunch by the lake or sip and stroll as you shop. Franklin Makers Market is committed to being a safe, socially distanced event. Masks encouraged.

- Enjoy a free craft fair featuring handmade art during the Spring Tennessee Craft Fair. This event is in its 50th year with over 125 artisans from across Tennessee and the Southeast. Within the fair, COVID-19 restrictions remain in place; masks are strongly encouraged where social distancing is not feasible and hand sanitizer stations are also available. While this year’s event does not include a demonstration tent or kids’ tent, families are able to pick up a bag containing supplies for at-home art projects from community partners like the Chinese Art Alliance of Nashville, the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, Tennessee State University Department of Art and Design & MSPAR, and Turnip Green Creative Reuse.

Middle Tennessee Strawberry Festival

- Enjoy the small town of Portland with food, free live music and vendors on Friday at 5 p.m. The main concert that night is Resurrection – A Journey Tribute at 7:30 with fireworks at 9. On Saturday, May 8th enjoy live music, over 175 vendors, bingo, activities for kids, 5K walk/run and more! The parade will be at 4 p.m. to end the festival.

Sean Kenney’s Nature POP! Made with Lego Bricks

- From acclaimed artist Sean Kenney and produced by Imagine Exhibitions, this exhibition features 38 sculptures made from more than 800,000 LEGO® Bricks. Inspired by the Pop art movement, Kenney’s work blurs the boundaries between austere and the everyday, drawing from a belief that everything is interconnected. Sean Kenney’s Nature POP! Made with LEGO® Bricks explores the beauty of nature through highly stylized, colorful displays that stand in striking contrast with their surroundings. Presenting a playful spin on traditional sculptural art, this exhibition is an accessible experience for all ages designed to inspire visitors to create something wonderful themselves. Nashville Ballet Virtual Family Month

Curated to engage active minds, Family Day includes over four hours of virtual on-demand content that children can enjoy anytime (and as many times as they want!) throughout the whole month.
Concerts at The Caverns Above Ground

- The Caverns Above Ground—a new socially-distanced music venue. For healthy and safety precautions, guests will arrive at staggered times, be asked COVID-19 screening questions, receive a temperature check, and enjoy the show from socially distanced pods. Guests are allowed to bring their own chairs (seating will not be provided). Food, beverages, and merchandise can be ordered through an app and be delivered without any contact. Guests can purchase a 2-person, 4-person, or 6-person pod. Ticket prices vary. See the line up here.

Alice in Wonderland Virtual Picnic with the Library
The 6th Annual Picnic with the Library will take place on Sunday, May 16th virtually. Picnic with the Library Package delivered to your home and will include: family friendly games, a craft kit from Little Art House, delectable treats, access to Wishing Chair Productions’ premiere of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and additional surprises delivered to your doorstep on Friday, May 14.
