Nashville Fall Festivities Guide

- Saturday, October 3rd from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday, October 31st
- Historic Granville’s Fall Festival kicks off a full month of decorations and scarecrows that are simply “over the top.” One of Tennessee’s Largest Scarecrow Festival, visitors will enjoy see over 300 scarecrows of Mayberry characters and traditional scarecrows. Jazz on the Cumberland at Veteran’s Park will host musical presentations all afternoon. The Granville Quilt Show will be held at the Granville Methodist Church all during the month of October. The Granville Ghost Walk will be on October 23rd and 24th with myths and stories about Granville.

Designing Doodles Zentangle Workshop
- Saturday, October 3rd, 10:30-11:15 a.m.
- Kick off your boots and draw with us. Youth and Family Programs Manager Britt McDermott will lead participants in a fun, relaxing drawing activity called “Zentangle,” using patterns found in museum artifacts. Take inspiration from repetitive and iconic symbolism in Nudie Cohn and Manuel costumes, features in museum architecture, and details in poster art featured in Outlaws and Armadillos: Country’s Roaring ‘70s. No artistic experience necessary—just bring your imagination. Recommended for ages seven and up, but all are welcome. Guardian is required to be present for children under thirteen. Takes place via Zoom. Space is limited. Registration required. Free. Registration closes at 9:00 a.m. the morning of the program.

- The Hermitage
- After dark this fall, embark on a distinctly spooky voyage at Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage as you explore the mansion, grounds and cemetery by lantern light. Along the way, guides present stories of strange encounters such as the ghosts of the Battle of New Orleans and Jackson’s infamous meeting with Tennessee’s Bell Witch. Beware of eerie encounters, possibly even with President Jackson himself. Ghost Tours launch at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. from the breezeway. Tours also include a complimentary tasting from our Natchez Hills Winery tasting room. Please arrive early.
