If you know anything about me, you know I love a good party and Halloween is no exception! This year, I wanted to throw a party that was fun, but also turned Halloween from a “gimme all the candy” event into a “give all the candy” event. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely want my children to get candy (mostly so I can eat some, too), but I never shy away from teaching them how to make someone else’s day a little brighter. So, when we heard about BOO’ing I knew that was what I wanted to do.
If you haven’t heard of BOO’ing, the concept is pretty simple. Pack up some goodies, sneak them onto your neighbor’s porch, then run!! The fun is to not get caught.
At our party, we decided to “Make your own BOO Party Kit”. I provided all of the supplies to make an awesome BOO gift basket and we threw in some party supplies so mom can give the kids a fun party at home without the hassle. Parties are my favorite, after all.
To start, I took some black poster board and cut out “BOO” to set the backdrop. I’m no artist and I was able to do it, so I’m sure you can, too! To make it easy, I made little printable instruction sheets so everyone would know what to do. Just follow the steps to an awesome BOO Party Kit!
Step 1: Pick a bucket
Step 2: Pick your party supplies
Step 3: Fill a baggie with candy & treats for each person (so no one fights over the candy)
Step 4: Pick a beverage… and don’t forget the straw!
Step 5: It’s not a party without a balloon!
Step 6: Add a BOO sign
If you want to use my instruction sheets, you can download them here.
I found these awesome Halloween cans of Sunkist® and 7UP® at Walmart while I was there picking up bags of candy. All essential items to a fun BOO kit! You can save $2.00 on on one (1) 6 pack of 8oz cans or two (2) 2L and 2 bags of MARS® Candy with this coupon.
Speaking of Walmart, make sure to enter for your chance to win the #BooItForward sweepstakes for $1000 Walmart gift card.

Other things I included for guests to make their own BOO Party Kit:
-an assortment of buckets and containers
-paper party supplies
-plastic cups (to include in their BOO kit or to snag some treats for themselves)
-paper straws
-non-candy goodies
-balloons (because what’s a party without balloons?)
-most importantly the BOO card which you can download here. To use it: (1)Cut out the “We’ve Been BOO’d” sign, (2)Fold the “You’ve Been BOO’d” greeting card and tape the openings together, (3)Include the card and sign when giving your BOO basket.
Let each guest pick out their supplies and then get to work putting it all together in their bucket. You should definitely sprinkle in some extra candy for good measure. Don’t forget to sneak a piece for yourself!
Once you have your BOO kit complete, don’t forget to put the BOO card in it so that your neighbor can #BOOItForward once they’ve been BOO’d!
There are so many other fun variations to make your own BOO kit. You could include an easy craft for the kids to do, a baking mix, games- the possibilities are endless! You can check out some other ideas here.
