Recently we were invited to check out the new Homestead Manor restaurant in Thompson Station. Homestead Manor is owned by the A. Marshall Family Foods- the same family that owns the Pucketts restaurants that we all know and love. (so it has to be good, right?)
While it is a bit of a drive, it’s a really easy drive in from the Downtown Nashville area. And it is definitely worth it! Pulling in, the beauty of the property immediately captures your attention. With the hustle and bustle of the busy city out of sight, you may find yourself relaxing and enjoying that ‘country air’.
The property includes a restaurant in a historic home. Built in 1819, the home has many stories to tell. Each room of the house is decorated with items found on the property or that have some sort of connection to that era. Make sure to save some time to walk around to each room and check out the decor.
The Barn is an amazing event space and will truly take your breath away. The giant chandeliers will have you in awe and wanting to plan an event there as soon as possible.
But, perhaps the most unique part of Homestead Manor is Flanking Harvest- the farm. It is a working organic farm and many of Homestead Manor’s foods are grown on the property. Yes, HM has its own farm and some amazing farmers, too! The food you are eating in the restaurant is dependent on what they were able to pick from the farm that day. It’s really an awesome thing to experience. There is also an herb garden near the Glass Bar where the chef can sometimes be found in the middle of dinner clipping more herbs for the meals he is serving that night.
We haven’t even gotten to the food yet, and I’m already in love with the place. While the menu is constantly changing (remember that farm thing?) the food has a Tuscan inspired feel to it. I can’t imagine anything not being delicious. We got to try a wide variety of dishes, including spaghetti, pizza, salad, fresh baked bread, gelato, and more. Every single thing was a amazing. Oh, and the drink menu is bringing its A-game as well.
But, The Nashville Mom is all about exploring Nashville WITH your kids, right? Well, contrary to what you may have heard, Homestead Manor is entirely kid-friendly. They have high chairs and changing tables and even a kids menu. Let them eat and then let them explore outside while you sit on the porch. Of course, we wouldn’t mind a date night there either ;)
You can read more about Homestead Manor on their site. Make sure to follow them on Instagram, too! Just try not to drool on your screen…
