One of the best (in my opinion) vacations you can take you kids on is a trip to Disney World! Today we have a Disney Vacation Planner- Laura Beth Lamb- to tell us some tips and information to make your trip to Disney that much better.
Those who are around me at anything length of time know that I love Disney and that I have precious memories of being there with my own children so many times. As I work more and more with clients who ask for these suggestions, I hope that you might benefit from them as well.
What time of the year is best to go?
January or early February – For lowest cost (Disney runs great promotions, usually 20% OFF your hotel room or more depending on your hotel category) and lowest crowds (most everyone is in school so the wait times on most rides are less than 15 minutes). The only drawback to this time of year is the possibility of colder temperatures. So a water ride may not be a great idea but bringing a sweatshirt is!
September or October – For lowest crowds (again kids are back in school) and lowest rates (a good possibility of free dining or hotel offers) and still get the warmer Florida weather. During this time, Magic Kingdom is decorated for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and you can see the fall decorations even as early as September!
May – The beginning of May is a beautiful time to go to Disney. Crowds are low (school is not out yet but Spring Break is over), the rates are good, the weather is perfect and you can check out Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival, which is personally one of my favorites or you can catch Hollywood Studio’s Star Wars Weekends.
November or December – Typically the first weekend in November, Disney is ready for the Christmas holidays. Each Disney park is decorated and has its own magical celebration. Crowds and pricing are usually better mid-November and the first 2 weeks of December than Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years.
Should you stay at a Disney World Hotel? – YES! – Here are the perks!
*FREE pick-up/drop off from the Orlando International Airport (MCO). This has to be prearranged by your travel adviser.
*FREE shuttle to/from the parks, hotels and downtown Disney.
*FREE shopping delivery – if you buy something while you are in the parks, they will deliver it to your hotel room for free. This makes spending time in the parks so much more hassle free!
*FREE Morning/Evening Magic Hours – For hotel guests only, a different Disney park opens 1 hour early or stays open up to 3 hours late. Typically shorter lines = more rides!
*They are as close as you get to the parks, so no need to pay for parking or taking extra transportation to get to the parks.
*Luggage transportation – with Disney’s luggage tags (provided with your Disney reservation and Magical Express reservation), your bags are delivered right to your hotel room from the airport and they will take it to the airport on your return trip home.
I would love to help your family plan a magical vacation to Disney World, Disneyland, Disney’s Aulani, a Disney Cruise or an Adventures by Disney trip. All of my planning services are FREE!
