TNM: Introduction-tell me a little about yourself, where you’re from, your family.
PP: Hi y’all! My name is Morgan! My husband, Kurt, and I have been married for 8 1/2 years, and we have one daughter, Milliana. I am originally from the small town of Grayson, Kentucky. We moved to Nashville a little over 6 years ago to help plant a new church with our friends! I’m a pediatric nurse by trade, but currently a stay-at-home-mama to Milliana. It’s by far my favorite “job!”
TNM: Tell us about your adoption journey and what led you to start Puddin’ and Pie?
PP: Adoption has been part of our plan for growing our family from the beginning (or at least mine anyways; I let Kurt in on that plan about 3 months into dating). Ha! We adopted Milliana when she was just 2 days old! We received the phone call that her amazing birth mama had chosen us to parent her on a Thursday afternoon, and we boarded a plane the following Friday morning to Hawaii to meet her! It was quite a whirlwind! Being her Mama and Papa has been the absolute greatest honor. When we decided it was time to grow our family, we felt God calling us to do so again through adoption – but y’all – adoption is expensive! We knew we would need to get creative to find ways to offset the associated costs, and that’s when the idea for Puddin’ & Pie came to mind! I’ve enjoyed sewing for friends and family, and of course for Milliana, for quite some time, so we decided this might be the best time to turn that hobby into a business to help fund our adoption! My ultimate goal is to be able to help other families fund their adoptions as well through Puddin’ & Pie.

TNM: When you’re not busy making orders, where is your favorite place around Nashville to spend time?
PP: Our favorite place to spend time as a family is Centennial Park! Whether it’s playing on the playground, catching some amazing music at Musician’s Corner, flying kites in the field, or checking out amazing art at the artisan festivals – there’s always something fun to do there!
