This post is sponsored by Regions Bank, member FDIC but all opinions are my own.
My son is quite the little entrepreneur, always wanting to host lemonade stands, and has recently began selling no-longer used items on online marketplaces to earn money. Owen was thrilled to receive crisp dollar bills from his grandparents during the holidays and his favorite gift was a small ATM “Bank”. While he has been excited to deposit and withdraw from this mini-sized toy teller machine, we decided it was time to learn more about setting up a real savings account with Regions Bank for both of our children and establish a healthy financial foundation.
As parents, it is our responsibility to teach our children how to manage their money. I’ll admit that I am still learning and want my children to be more financially savvy than I was at their age. I hope to create a sense of financial ownership by opening their own accounts and openly discussing earning, saving and spending. With their own accounts, it will be a harder decision to spend their funds on coveted items as it’s much easier to spend mom and dad’s money.
We chose Regions Bank to explore our children’s financial futures. Regions’ convenient features, advanced technology and many locations throughout the Nashville area and Southeast was a huge incentive. Regions recently opened a new Nashville West branch that offers Video Banking ATM, DepositSmart ATM, a 24-Hour Banking Vestibule and the kid’s favorite, the Drive-Thru.
The Regions staff educated the children on the importance of savings accounts and gave us the resources we needed to begin this milestone experience.
The staff walked Owen through the steps of having his savings account and how we can assist him using online banking to keep track of his finances. The Regions Mobile Banking app is another convenient method. I’m sure once we get his account set up, we will access it many times while shopping to check his account.
You can check out the new Nashville West Regions Branch (6704 Charlotte Pike Nashville, TN 37209) at their Grand Opening on February 1, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
