Pretty safe to say that we are all looking forward to warmer and sunnier days ahead! Spring Break is only a few weeks away! Here are some of my favorite family-friendly destinations within driving distance of Nashville and staycation options.
- Monteagle, Tennessee
- Distance from Nashville: Just a little over 2 hours
- A quick drive from Nashville, you’ll find The Retreat at Deer Lick Falls tiny house village!
- Hiking trails, one of Tennessee’s largest waterfalls, playgrounds, firepits and more!
- Adairsville, Georgia

- This family friendly resort is set in a story book setting with adorable cottages and Inn, nightly firepits with free s’mores kits, farm animals, fishing, canoeing, golf and more! They have lots of exciting events coming up this spring! Read more about our trip to Barnsley here.
- Altamont, Tennessee
- Distance from Nashville: a little over 2 hours
- Enjoy the outdoors and nature on this secluded 16 acre property nestled below a 40 foot rock cliff and take in the views without having to give up all of your luxuries in life. Camping is fun until you have to use the bathroom or when you wake up in the morning and can’t shower or must use a shared shower. This geodesic dome features a fully functioning bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower. No need for coolers when you have a fridge. No more worrying about the weather, you have an HVAC system to heat and cool to your preference.

- Opryland has so much to offer this fall including Goblins & Giggles which offers a wide array of family-friendly activations from spooky animal encounters and a Halloween-themed scavenger hunt featuring Spookley the Square Pumpkin to trick-or-treating and cruising along our indoor river aboard one of the resort’s flatboat rides. In celebration of Goblins & Giggles, a special family package is offered starting at $245 per room. The package includes a one-night stay at Gaylord Opryland Resort, two Hide and Seek Scavenger Hunt booklets per room and four passes for a ride on a Delta River flatboat inside the resort.
