Have you ever seen something and thought, “I need to make a party around that!”? Probably not, but welcome to my world. I was recently out shopping and found that the new Glade® Limited Edition Winter Collection was out on the shelves. I was immediately obsessed with the Send a Little Love™ Vanilla Biscotti scent. It had me dreaming of snowflakes, friends and, of course, cookies! So, I combined the three to throw a fun holiday cookie swap party!
For a cookie swap party, all you really need is friends and cookies. Have each friend bring their favorite recipe and you provide the treat baskets for everyone to take different cookies home.
But, if you want to make it cute and fancy, that’s even better. Black and white is my obsession this holiday season. It screams chic and modern- which is exactly what I wanted this party to be. Setting up the table was actually very easy, especially since you want the cookies to steal the show.
Being inspired by the snowflakes and hints of sliver and blue on the candle, I gathered some fun accent pieces to go with my black and white. I used this black paper with white snowflakes (it’s actually wrapping paper!) and I used a black poster board to make the table runner. Then, I just added in some little snowflake accents to spruce up the table a bit.
Make sure to save room for each person to place their favorite cookie recipe! I also had them write the flavor on the table runner so no one was left with any surprises when they got home. These baskets were so cute and, I thought, would be perfect for getting the cookies home. Plus, the guests can reuse them later to give gifts to their loved ones.
Don’t forget about the scent that started it all! I kept the Glade® Send a Little Love™ Vanilla Biscotti PlugIn® next to the table to make everyone feel at home and loved with its sweet smell.
We’ll need something to drink while we chat and munch on a cookie or two! The Send a Little Love™ Vanilla Biscotti scent inspired this Vanilla Peppermint Hot Chocolate. It is extremely easy to make, which is good, because you may have to whip up another batch once everyone drinks their first cup!
Vanilla Peppermint Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
4 cups milk
2.5 tablespoons vanilla extract
6 mini candy canes, crushed
10 oz semisweet chocolate chips
Start by heating the milk and vanilla in a saucepan over high heat. Once it’s heated through, add in your crushed candy canes and take off heat. Let sit for about 10 minutes.
Put back on med-low heat and whisk in chocolate until it’s melted all the way through.
Serve immediately with marshmallows and an extra candy cane.
Once you have everything ready to go, you can sit back, enjoy the company of your loved ones, and nibble on some cookies.

Too cute! I was just thinking earlier this week how I wanted to host a cookie swap party but didn’t know what it entailed. Now I do!
