Fall means festival time in Nashville and one to be sure not to miss is Handmade & Bound.
Handmade & Bound celebrates independent publishers and printed matter. There you’ll find artists’ books, zines, mini-comics, and all things print. This year the festival will feature over 35 vendors as well as demonstrations from professional artists and more.
The festival is FREE and family-friendly. It will be held Saturday, October 3 from 11:00am-4:00pm at the Watkins College of Art, Design & Film.
In addition to the festival, Watkins’ campus will host an exhibition of community-produced works October 2-12. Showcased in the exhibition, Bound Together, you will find handmade books inspired by the many definitions of family: those you’re born into, those you create, and those who simply find you. Some of these books were created during community workshops held by Watkins Community Education. During these workshops book artists taught the participants how to create their own, handmade books and poets taught them how to fill those books with poetry, collages, and drawings. In the exhibition you will also find works from artists in the Nashville area.
You won’t want to miss out on the great art event for the entire family. Make sure to check out Handmade & Bound on:
