If you’re looking for something fun (and free) to do with the kids, it’s time to try out story time at the main library in downtown Nashville.
If you haven’t been to the downtown library with your kids, you are missing out. The children’s area (located on the second floor) is huge and they have plenty of room for everyone to sit and see the show. Story time is different each week. We’ve seen magicians, puppets, crafts… and we’ve only been a few times!
The headache of getting parked and into the building can be a little much, I’ll warn you, but it’s worth it. Plus, once you’ve gone once or twice, you will have your routine down pat. You have to park in the garage and walk over. Make sure to take your parking ticket and get it validated so at least it’s free for the first 90 minutes.
After story time you can have a picnic lunch in the courtyard or just enjoy some extra time reading books. and playing in the children’s area.
There are story times on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings. See full schedule here.
Also, check out other branches and their story times here.
Do you have a favorite thing to do around town? We want to know!
