Friday, August 15:
- String City at the Main Library– Enjoy a puppet show about the history of country music and how Nashville came to be Music City. Starts at 10 and 11:30.
- We caught this last week and my three year old didn’t love it. I really liked it though. I would recommend this for older kids. Also, you can’t have your snacks and drinks in there so plan accordingly.
- Art Making in the Lobby– Visitors can create their own artwork in response to the Frist’s exhibitions. They provide the supplies for free. Starts at 6.
- Lawn chair Theatre– Starting at 8, bring the family to Leiper’s Fork to enjoy Epic. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, but no coolers. They will have concessions available.
Saturday, August 16:
- Shark Week Celebration– Head down to Adventure Science Center for a day of shark and ocean themed activities. Starts at 10.
- Apple Snacks– Kids 9-13 can learn to make some fun, new snacks with apples at Williams-Sonoma in Green Hills. Starts at 10.

- The Pied Piper– Olde World Theatre performs at The Belcourt. Take the kids and enjoy a “an urban adventure”. For all ages. Starts at 10.
- End of Summer Party- Country Music HOF will have their Musical Petting Zoo at the Main Library to celebrate the end of summer. Kids will be able to “pet” the different instruments. Starts at 10:30.
- Song and Story Time at Country Music HOF- Ages 3-5 can listen to a story and participate in hands on activities. Starts at 10:30 and should last about 35 minutes.
- Parnassus Books’ Story Time- A secret entrance, a cool train table, and a story! Starts at 10:30.
- Nashville Children’s Theatre Open House- View snippets from the season’s upcoming shows and other fun activities. Starts at 12.
Sunday, August 17:
- Artful Tales at The Frist– Starting at 2:00 ages 3 and up can listen and play along as an art-related story comes to life. Then, head upstairs to make your own art.
