It has something for everyone. Animals, playgrounds, train rides\u2026<\/p>\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t been before, here are our favorite tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Go early<\/strong>&#8211; the animals are usually most active in the morning (the zoo people told me that themselves). Kids like it when animals move.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pack a lunch and\/or a picnic blanket<\/strong>&#8211; there are plenty of places to grab food inside the zoo, but you can also bring your own lunch. Spread out in the grassy area in the center of the zoo and have a little picnic. There are tables, too if you aren&#8217;t into sitting on the ground.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Get your tokens up front<\/strong>&#8211; if you want to ride the carousel or the train, you need tokens. It&#8217;s easier to get them at the front information booth. You can also get them in the machine next to the rides, but make sure you have dollar bills. Also, if you&#8217;re a member, you can usually get a discount at the info booth.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stop by the playground<\/strong>&#8211; it really is amazing. There is even a special area for the &#8220;tiny tots&#8221;. If you have a membership, you&#8217;ll probably\u00a0find yourself going just for the playground some days.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Don&#8217;t forget the farm area<\/strong>&#8211; it&#8217;s cool and shaded plus the kids will love seeing the\u00a0cows. (via @DelbarreAlissa)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Don&#8217;t do it all<\/strong>&#8211; the zoo can make for a long day. We love our membership because we can go for just a few hours at a time and not feel like we&#8217;ve wasted a ticket.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Buy a membership<\/strong>&#8211; it really is worth it if you plan to go more than 2 times. You get free parking and discounts in the zoo on food and souvenirs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nashvillemomblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/img_4405.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-221\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nashvillemomblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/img_4405.jpg?resize=535%2C402\" alt=\"IMG_4405\" width=\"535\" height=\"402\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Other things that are good to know:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>stroller &amp; wheelchair rentals are available<\/li>\n<li>there are family bathrooms available with changing tables and room to bring all the kiddos inside<\/li>\n<li>the zoo is open everyday except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year&#8217;s Day<\/li>\n<li>make sure to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nashvillezoo.org\/events\" target=\"_blank\">check the calendar<\/a> for special zoo events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Nashville Zoo is open from 9am-6pm daily and is located off of Nolensville Pike.<\/p>\n<p>Have any good tips or tricks we need to add?
