Meredith is a mom of two who just recently moved to the Spring Hill area. She&#8217;s been spending the summer exploring all of the fun her new area of town has to offer.\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As a mom new to Spring Hill, I am looking for anything cheap, free, kid friendly and somewhere I (and my kids) might meet some new friends. Today we explored the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.springhilltn.org\/PARKS\" target=\"_blank\">Port Royal Park<\/a> (splash pad and park) that just opened on Memorial Day.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a really nice splash pad! It was pretty crowded, but it was fenced in and only one side had a gate- which is great! So, if you have a child like my oldest, she would never leave your sight without telling you exactly where she was going, this would not matter to you. However, if you have a child like my second, he is everywhere and I can&#8217;t keep an eye on him, so I just kept an eye on the gate!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thenashvillemom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/image1.jpg?ssl=1\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3325\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thenashvillemom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/image1.jpg?resize=600%2C450&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Port Royal Park (Spring Hill)\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thenashvillemom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/image1.jpg?w=600&amp;ssl=1 600w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thenashvillemom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/image1.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The splash pad was great for every age. It also had an awesome playground! This playground seemed to be geared more towards older kids.\u00a0There was a great spot with rings and bars for the gymnast at heart.\u00a0My 5 (almost 6) year old loved it. I didn&#8217;t let my 3 year old try, I wasn&#8217;t wanting to go to the ER today (Ha!).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thenashvillemom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/image8.jpg?ssl=1\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3323\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thenashvillemom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/image8.jpg?resize=600%2C450&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Port Royal Park (Spring Hill)\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thenashvillemom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/image8.jpg?w=600&amp;ssl=1 600w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thenashvillemom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/image8.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Both the Women&#8217;s and Men&#8217;s \u00a0bathrooms had changing tables and hooks for your towels.\u00a0They really were nice considering it&#8217;s a public park!<\/p>\n<p>There were plenty of tables and umbrellas. It&#8217;s\u00a0always fun to stop by, \u00a0see a fire truck, and say &#8220;thank you&#8221; to those brave men!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Things to Bring:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sunscreen<\/li>\n<li>Drinks\/snacks\/lunch<\/li>\n<li>Towels<\/li>\n<li>I would recommend a water shoe (the concrete can get hot and slippery)<\/li>\n<li>Change of clothes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Be ready for your kids to be exhausted after a morning at the splash pad or park!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today, one of our moms from Spring Hill is here to share with us.
