Laurel, Mississippi has been on my radar to visit after reading about it in Southern Living Magazine and from HGTV’s Home Town. We decided to make a stop on our way back from Fairhope, Alabama and visit this quaint town.

First stop: Lee’s Coffee and Tea is the place you’d want to meet your girlfriends for lunch to try their famous chicken salad or for one of their caffeinated creations.

The iced Raspberry Truffle Latte did not disappoint.

Downtown Laurel was full of art, historic buildings and charming shops

A few places we enjoyed were Crescent Line Toys, Shug’s Cookie Dough and Sweet Shop, Allie’s on Magnolia

And of course, Ben and Erin Napier’s Laurel Mercantile.

This dreamy store was full of beautiful home goods, fabrics, gifts, books, candles, fragrances and more.

Have you ever decided not to get something and then regret it? Well, that’s exactly how I feel about this vintage quilts!

And I pretty much wanted all the milk glass and kitchen goodies!

I could’ve spent all day looking at Laurel Mercantile! Good news is that you can order most things online.

After strolling through downtown, we wanted to see a few of the houses that have been renovated on the show. LC asked if I was going to take a picture of every house…the answer is YES!

Driving down streets streets lined with old trees and charming houses is my favorite way to spend an afternoon.

Laurel, Mississippi was such a fun day trip! It’s about 5 and a half hours from Nashville. Would be a great side trip if you’re going to the coast of Alabama or Mississippi.

Where is your favorite small town?
