ShowerUp is a shower truck that provides a warm shower, basic hygiene needs to the nearly 4,000 homeless men, women and children in the Nashville area. Volunteers are needed to assist guests, donate shower kits, money or items from their Amazon wish list. A lot of the homeless population are just looking for someone to talk to, giving an hour or two of your time means the world to them!

Ronald McDonald House Charities
The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities is to keep families close by providing essential resources and a “home away from home” for families of critically ill children receiving inpatient our outpatient medical care at Nashville area hospitals. Volunteers are needed to greet families, answer phone calls, provide home cooked meals for families! Our family also collects aluminum tabs from drink cans and soups to donate. Ronald McDonald House can recycle these and make up to $10,000 per year. An easy way to make a big difference!
Danita’s Children rescue, love and care for orphans and impoverished children in Haiti, meeting their needs physically, emotionally, educationally, and spiritually so that they are empowered to become leaders in their communities and nation. You can sponsor a child, become a child champion, shop Amazon Smile and so many other ways to give.
Second Harvest Food Bank is a network of individuals, local nonprofit organizations and corporate partners who work together to fight hunger in our community. Second Harvest provides food to 46 counties in Middle and West Tennessee. Opportunities to sort food, organization food drives and more are available at Second Harvest. I’m hosting a Family Night on January 24th for children ages 6 and up. We will be packing Food Backpacks for area children. Register here.
Ride for Reading’s goal is to help children in low-income areas become healthy and literate. Donate new or “like new” books around Nashville at local bike shops. Volunteers are also need to ride bikes for deliveries.
Show Hope’s mission is to care for orphans in the U.S. and across the world in China. Show Hope believes that every child should be a part of a loving, caring family. Their work is dedicated to restoring hope to millions of children living as orphans by breaking down barriers between waiting children and loving families. To date, over 6.200 children have been adopted with Show Hope assistance. Steven Curtis Chapman and his family are the founders of this amazing organization and are very passionate about adoption.
