Summer Fun Guide

Floating in for SUMMER FUN! After being quarantined inside for months, we are looking forward to spending lots of time outside! With summer camps and travel plans being shelved, I am being intentional with still making summer memories for our family.

Dollar General is my go-to spot for stocking up on everything I need for summer; pool floats, toys, indoor and outdoor games, snacks, paper goods, snacks, cookout supplies, sunscreen, clothing, holiday décor and more! I wanted to share my guide to summer fun on a budget. Not only did I find so many things but felt safe while shopping also with installed sneeze guards and hand sanitizing stations.

Operation Keep the Kids Busy

I snagged all of these pool toys, jump ropes, Glove Bubbles, snorkel sets and sunscreen for under $30!

The Glove Bubbles have been so much fun! For $2.50 and gives the kids an outdoor activity they both enjoy! LC gets the bubbles going and Owen tries to pop them!

Rainy Day Fun

For rainy days or those late summer days where it is too hot to go outside, I found classic games like Hungry, Hungry Hippos, Stack-A-Mole, Legos, Smart Sand, coloring books and crayons. I usually keep new items put away until a rainy day so the “newness” doesn’t wear off.

Not sure if anyone else feels like this but getting ready to spend the day by the pool takes a lot of work! This year, I made a list of needed items (towels, sunscreen, goggles, pool toys floats, SNACKS) and am trying to keep everything in one place. I added this sun hat for $5 and cute, zipper cooler bag for only $6!

I’m going to go ahead and call it-these $10 floats are the best thing I’ll purchase all summer!

For the Celebrations

Dollar General has everything you need for your summer cookouts and 4^th of July festivities! I found a great selection of holiday themed paper products, grilling necessities like hamburger buns, chips, condiments, drinks, charcoal and even more.

For at home or on the go, I stocked up on paper plates and napkins.
