Halloween is this week! Are your costumes ready and the treats purchased? We’ve got some last minute tips and tricks for you!
First up, safety! Make sure to keep all of these in mind and talk about them with your kids-
Another important thing we want to point out is the Teal Pumpkin Project
The Teal Pumpkin Project was created for children with food allergies. The Food Allergy Research & Education is encouraging people to offer non-food treats on Halloween for children with food allergies. If you are participating, you simply put a teal pumpkin on your porch to let kids know.
Many children with food allergies don’t get to fully enjoy Halloween because they have to worry about what candies they will get or upset because they can’t have any of the things. The Teal Pumpkin Project can help bring the fun back to Halloween for these children.
If you need some ideas for non-food treats, the FARE website has some. I’ve seen most of these things for $1-$3 around town.
You can read all about it here.
We hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween! Don’t forget to get your pumpkin pictures in by Friday night!
