Sometimes I laugh when people use the term “busy mom”. I mean, isn’t that redundant? Aren’t all moms busy? YepYepYep
Moms are busy bees out there raising kiddos, managing homes, holding down jobs, serving their community… whatever it is you that you have on your plate. We all need a helping hand here and there. Can I get an “amen”? So, over time I’ve been known to dabble in different services offered to help ease my load. I’ve tried so many things and downloaded so many service apps. I feel like I have a pretty good handle on the different things out there right now (of course, I always like to hear about new things!).
My favorite apps to help busy moms:
Starbucks App
I love this one because of the Mobile Order feature. I just order when I’m leaving the house and it’s ready when I get there. No waiting in line with crazy kids. Winning!
Shipt
I hate grocery shopping and I really hate grocery shopping with kids. So, Shipt was pretty much the answer to my prayers. I log in to my app, input my grocery list and then lounge around the house and wait for it to be delivered to my door. The shoppers are great about communicating with you while they are shopping if anything is out of stock.
Favor or Postmates
These are similar concepts, but I use them both because they each run different specials and restaurants. This is great for when dad is out of town and you don’t want to drag the kids out for dinner (or cook). I also love it for those days when you really want a hot lunch and baby is already napping.
Yoshi
This one blew my mind. They deliver gas. Like for your car. Just tell them where you’re parked and they will come fill up the swagger wagon. No more standing in the freezing cold to pump your own gas. And, yes, the prices are the same as those at the pump. ;)
Amazon Prime Now
I know we’re all addicted to Amazon and this is just the icing on the cake. Need something NOW and can’t make it out to the store, they have a great selection of items that can be delivered quickly. One time I had a birthday present delivered to me at the person’s party because I was running so late and couldn’t make it to the store on the way there. I’m not sure if I’ve ever felt more awesome.
Venmo
This is like instant PayPal and no fees if you use it with your bank account. I love this for paying the babysitter or even paying a friend back for picking up the check at dinner. It’s so easy!
Any.DO
Ok, this is currently my favorite To Do List app. It has so many customization options- reminders, lists, colors. I really love the “Play your day” feature where you can go through all the tasks and tell the app what time you want to do it or if you want to put it off until tomorrow or next week. I went ahead and paid for the upgraded version and I love it.
What are your favorite apps? We want to know if there’s something else to add to our phones!
