They say everything is BIGGER in Texas! I’m a big fan of the Lone Star State! There’s so much to do, fun shops to browse and the most amazing food!
*WHERE WE STAYED*
The Canvas Hotel in Dallas was the perfect location, right in the middle of town!
This artsy boutique hotel was beautifully decorated and had comfortable seating areas throughout the lobby for relaxing.
Not only were the rooms so cozy but they had scenic views of the Cedar’s District in Dallas.
Even though I wanted to explore the city, sleeping in and lounging in this comfy bed was pretty nice too!
We had the most perfect evening at Canvas’ Rooftop Lounge watching the sunset, enjoying drinks and appetizers.
The hotel also has onsite dining available making it a one stop shop!
These Dallas views were a highlight of the trip!
*Local Attractions*
Meredyth and I started our weekend in Dallas at the George W. Bush Presidential Library. No matter your political views, this library was filled with history and so many interesting facts about our country. And of course, seeing former First Lady Laura Bush was something we will never forget!
Liberty and Laughter, A Lighter Side of The White House is the current exhibit! I think we can all agree that The White House could use more laughter these days.
There’s a replica Oval Office! I didn’t know that each President gets to change out the flooring and decor!
Our main reason for coming to Dallas was to attend IF Gathering, a gathering of women with inspiring speakers and worship!
It was very surreal to be together again
*Where We Shopped*
While we didn’t have a lot of time to shop, Highland Park had several cute boutiques to browse! My favorites were Party Bazaar, Brit Rose and of course Avara!
It was so fun to stop by Avara in person to see all these cute things.
*Where We Ate*
Dear Dallas, I had to come home because I was eating way toooo much!
Opening Bell Coffee was directly across from Canvas! They had the best avocado toast, tasty coffee and a relaxing atmosphere.
The biggest surprise of our trip was “having lunch” with former First Lady, Laura Bush at Cafe 43.
If you squint really hard, you can catch a glimpse of her in the background of this photo.
I also had her favorite sandwich at the Cafe-grilled tomato, mozzarella and avocado sandwich! It was so good!
Hudson House in Highland Park was a great spot for brunch! Such a fun environment and fresh food!
Bondi Bowls stopped by the Avara with delicious acai bowls and fruit infused lemonade! I love their mission to “bring the beach to you” and their healthy menu!
And while, I didn’t get a picture-everyone was right when they recommended Mi Cocina! Everyone said it was the best food in Dallas!
It was a quick trip to Dallas but so full! I’m thankful for Uber drivers because I wouldn’t have wanted to drive in this busy city! I’m already looking forward to being back in Texas soon!
