You know in the fashion magazines when they ask the celebrities, “What’s in your purse/makeup bag?” I am really obsessed with those articles. I don’t know why. Just nosy I guess. So, here is my mommy-fied version!
Some things you should know- I didn’t curate this photo. This is literally all the crap in my diaper bag minus some random trash I threw away. For reference, I have an almost 4 year old and a 1 year old.
Mommy stuff:
Wallet- for money, or really just to hold receipts of all the money I used to have.
Pens and notepad- Should any blogger leave the house without these? Inspiration could strike at any moment.
Gum
Phone
Chapstick
Extra bows- These aren’t a mommy item if you were curious. Always need some backup bows on hand!
Extra outfit- I know as soon as I stop carrying this, we’ll need it. So, it stays.
Snacks- Lots of them. We’re a hungry bunch. Pouches, cereal bars, protein bars, goldfish, emergency mandarin oranges.
Snapbibs– Because we really love them!
Table toppers– We don’t use these a lot, but I always carry them just in case. I think this is one of those second child things. I always used them with my first, but the second can just eat off of the dirty table.
Face and hand wipes- Apparently someone has convinced me you can’t use the same wipes on a baby’s face as you do their booties.
Changing mat– I love this Aden & Anais mat. It’s so soft and can double as a blanket if you’re in a pinch.
Cups
Diapers/wipes
Diaper baggies– I keep these in here just in case. They also make great bags if something gets wet or an outfit get soiled and you need to be able to put it back in your bag.
Books and toys
Toys
Fuji Instax Mini– This camera is one of my top 10 favorite things I own. I swear. It is SO fun! It like a modern polaroid. Add it to your wishlist now.
So, what do you think? Am I carrying a ridiculous amount of items (I already know the answer)? What’s in your bag? Share it with us on Instagram! Use #tnmdiaperbag We’re really nosy and we want to see!

Hi Lindsey–thanks for sharing. What bag are you using? I’m looking for something new!

Hey Marie!
I tend to rotate around between a huge tote bag, a backpack from Pottery Barn Kids, or I also have a Storksak Olivia bag. I’ve used a ton of different ones between my two kiddos- Skiphop, Petunia Pickle Bottom, Timi & Lesle. It just depends on what you are looking for in a bag. :) I love a tote bag because all of the compartments annoy me, but most people like a super organized bag.

Interesting–good to know I’m not the only one who rotates bags. I’ll check out some of these suggestions. Thanks!

LOL! Yes, this is a crazy amount of things to carry. Where do you carry the baby? LOL I remember the days, it was as if I was taking everything we owned to run to the grocery, if you left something at home that would be the day you would need it desperately!

I always say I have to go get my “suitcase” when we are leaving the house. :) I hate to not have what I need.

HI Lindsey:
Yes, that is a lot of stuff! I think you looked in mine though it would be similar. I also carry Tylenol and Benadryl. Hm. What does that say?? The camera idea is so fun!

I REALLY want that Instax Mini. Your diaper bag goodies are super cute. I always love seeing what’s in other people’s bags ;) Thanks for sharing!

I love having it! I originally just asked for it because it’s so cute, but I love taking pictures with it! My kids think it’s a blast, too!

I want to look at this post and think, “This is what I have to look forward to.” BUT I already carry around a crap ton of stuff- especially if I’m traveling with my pets! I know that if I don’t come prepared, I’ll be needing whatever it was that I took out of my bag that morning. Haha, I can only imagine when I have children! Yikes! Great post though! I love that camera!
P.S. I can also relate to the “minus some random trash” thing. Cleaning out my purse/tote/etc is a never ending battle!

Ha! It’s just real life. What’s funny is that I used to carry everything in the world in my purse before kids and now, when I’m by myself with just a regular purse, there’s like 4 things in there. :)
