I LOVE Back to School shopping-I always have! It was always a highlight for me each year selecting a new book bag, pencils, and lunch box. However, as a mom it’s a little harder letting my kids pick out what they want and staying on budget! This year, we are preparing in advance! We stopped by our favorite spot, Dollar General, for one-stop supply shopping! Not only did they have everything on our list, but if you spend $15 on school supplies, you’ll save $5 off!
Lily Caroline was impressed with all things sparkle and unicorn! She found her new backpack, lunch box, folders and pencils! She is so excited to begin 1st grade!
Lunch time is hard for LC! She is a very “selective” eater and unlike her brother, doesn’t want to eat in the cafeteria. While she prefers to pack a PB & J everyday, I like to include some healthier snack options for her also. Dollar General’s Good & Smart brand has some great choices like these Roasted & Salted Cashews. This is something she will love to snack on! We also love these Horizon Organic individual milk boxes, they are so easy to throw in the lunch box!
And of course, a cute new lunch box makes everything better too!
As a former teacher, I know how much money that teachers spend out of their personal funds for their classroom. Dollar General offers a 20% Teacher’s Discount. Teachers can show their school identification to save!
Dollar General is also making supply shopping more convenient by offering access to your teacher’s supply list. Parents can find your child’s supply list by entering your school’s zip code.
Not only is Dollar General a great place for savings but they are also focused on supporting literacy initiatives. Dollar General donates 100% of proceeds from their Fudge Dipped Shortbread, Caramel and Sea Salt Bar and Milk Chocolate Bars to the DG Literacy Foundation. They believe everyone deserves an equal opportunity to receive a basic education. It’s never too late to learn and the foundation supports youth and adult literacy programs across the country. The DG Literacy Foundation donated $8.3 Million to programs in the 42 states they have stores. That’s something we can proudly stand behind!
How are you preparing for Back to School?
